What constitutes application for a raid?

A raid is applicable when a threshold (decided by the Police Department) is met. They believe, through Probable Cause, that a search of persons or properties is required to be carried out in the State to further find evidence of illegality.

Specificity:

  1. Applicants, when applying for a Raid Warrant on a property need to be specific on what they are looking for, where they are looking for it and why.

  2. Specific evidence, already collected should be ready to submit alongside the application for a Raid Warrant

  3. The warrant and the evidence needs to be sent to a Judge or Judicial Official for agreement by email.

  4. The warrant should be limited in its scope.

  5. All emails should be sent formally with proper headings and titling so this can be presented to challenge in court should the need arise. Raid Guidelines

    Raids - Scope:

All illegal items found during a raid will be confiscated however charges can only be brough against a person for the specific items listed within the raid warrant itself. The scope of a raid should be accurate and can not be changed after a raid is completed. If suspects are arrested and all of the items within the raid warrant have been retrieved then the raid warrant should not be executed. Under no circumstances should suspects be getting raided for just shooting at LEOs. For the purposes of executing a standard raid warrant the suspect should be in police custody when the raid is executed.

Raiding for Investigations

With approval from command, a raid warrant may be executed on a gang compound, even if the specific suspects are not in custody. Raid warrants for investigations must include the following: a well-detailed report, clear and sufficient probable cause outlined in the report, supporting evidence such as pictures, and debriefs from all involved officers.

Example raid warrants:

Raiding Integrity Apartment - Sergeant and above

Retrieve a stormram from the armory, get the apartment number from the MDT and goto the apartment complex and select "raid apartment", choose the apartment number and enter.

Raiding Vehicles - Sergeant and above

Retrieve the "Raid Warrant" Item from the armory (this will be moving to DOJ/Chief in future).

Use /raidveh <CID>

Mark the garage where the vehicle is located

You can then sweep the vehicle locally or transport to VPD. If you park the vehicle the owner will be able to retrieve it from the garage again. If the vehicle is not in the list then it is not parked in a garage currently

When arriving at the garage use F1 > Open Garage > Raid Vehicle then input the ID
