LSPD Organisational Structure

The LSPD is organised into Departments and Units, each serving specific roles within the police force. Units will utilise specialised tools that require certification for day-to-day operations.

Departments:

  1. General LSPD: Oversees standard police operations.

  2. Training and Development: Focuses on officer training, professional growth, and supervision of all Units.

  3. Detectives: Includes the following subdivisions:

    • Gang Unit

    • Narcotics

    • Undercover Operations

    • Street Racing Unit - Unit: Specialises in handling illegal street racing activities, investigations, and tactical responses.

  4. S.W.A.T: Handles high-risk tactical operations.

Units:

  1. Air1: Aerial support and surveillance.

  2. Moto: Motorcycle patrols for high-mobility tasks.

  3. Advanced Driving: Specialised vehicle handling for pursuit and emergency situations.

  4. Interceptor: High-performance vehicle operations for priority pursuits. Training can be requested from https://www.info-hub.co/pd/ under "Request training"

Leadership and Reporting Structure

  • Department Leads: Captains will oversee each department, supported by Lieutenants as second-in-command.

  • Unit Leads: Sergeants will manage the day-to-day operations of specific Units. All Unit Leads will report directly to the Training and Development Department, ensuring consistent standards, certifications, and operational readiness.

Initial Deployment

Initially, Departments will be led by Captains and Lieutenants, who will oversee their development and operations. Officers will not be exclusively assigned to departments at this stage but will instead be deployed to roles based on operational needs and availability.

Standard LSPD policing will remain the priority during this period, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated. As the LSPD grows, officers will have the opportunity to transition into exclusive departmental roles, fostering specialisation and career progression.

S.W.A.T Operations: S.W.A.T will operate on a certification-based system. Officers interested in joining S.W.A.T must undergo and pass a formal trial process to gain certification.

Certified S.W.A.T officers will primarily perform regular LSPD duties. However, when a specific S.W.A.T operation arises, they will return to base to gear up and mobilise for the task. This ensures S.W.A.T remains prepared for deployment while actively contributing to daily policing efforts. S.W.A.T will be responsible for providing training on Class 2 and 3 weapons as well as breach and clear training.

Street Racing Unit: With the growing challenge of illegal street racing, the Street Racing Unit has been elevated to its own department. This department will focus on investigating street racing activities, handling pursuits, and engaging in tactical responses to mitigate risks associated with illegal racing.

Unit Supervision

All Unit Leads will report to the Training and Development Department, which will:

  • Oversee the certification process for unit operations.

  • Ensure consistent training standards.

  • Monitor and support unit performance and readiness.

This structure guarantees that Units align with departmental objectives and maintain a high standard of operation across the LSPD.

By adding dedicated supervision for Units through the Training and Development Department, this updated structure reinforces accountability, enhances training, and ensures operational effectiveness. As the LSPD continues to grow, this framework will support both general policing and specialised roles, meeting the diverse demands of the city.
